NFT's are a weird market. As it is pretty much new it is hard to understand it at the moment. Although, this article foreshadows the events that have occurred this very year. At the time this article was written in 2014 the information probably meant nothing. It honestly seems pretty pointless that this article was even written because it is basically a man just trying to make some big bank on his GIF. As the move performed by Jeff Koons did not mean much, I believe the NFT market is essential because it allows digital art to be sold to the general public like any other piece of art. Although, I find it strange because digital art cannot be displayed in a personal gallery like other forms of art like paintings, photographs, and sculptures. People cannot display NFT's like physical art to show off to others. This is why I see NFT's do not appear as valuable as other forms of art. But, it is a new market, I do find it weird that people are will to hundreds of dollars on something as simple as a gif. Maybe over time, this market will make more sense as it evolves.
