It is no secret anymore, the future of technology and art is in VR. With the announcement of Facebook Metaverse, all of the focus on art and technological profits are being shifted towards this idea. This idea of a completely virtual world is nothing new to us. People have been studying VR for decades and there is even a bestselling book that became a movie called Ready Player One. This science fiction story is not looking so fiction anymore.
Through the pandemic, the people have learned that many things do not need to be performed in person. Sylvain Lévy picked up on this idea through video games and art galleries. As of right now VR galleries are not top tier but are in the right direction for the future. With the current craze of NFT's, art is moving to the virtual world. All artists now have a platform and galleries to display their work. With Metaverse and video game galleries art will be less restrictive to the upper class. Everyone has access to the internet so now there will be more faces in front of lesser-known artists.
I believe the future will encapsulate better art galleries on the internet than in the real world. In the virtual world, creators are limitless when it comes to the opportunities to set up their galleries. Art can be a fully immersive experience that we as people cannot experience grounded in the real world. The new generation of art is just around the corner.
